Jesus Deserves our Praise

This week in Kidzville, your kids will learn that Jesus, the Lamb of God, deserves our praise. Our Key Bible Verse is “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (Revelation 5:12).

In the Bible Story this week, your kids will learn what it was like when Jesus entered Jerusalem…crowds of people laid palm branches and clothes on the road. As Jesus passed by, the people shouted praises to him. Like the people of Jerusalem, your kids will learn that God deserves our praise (Psalm 118:19-29; Matthew 21:1-11).

Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea: Parents, share with your children one reason to praise Jesus this week. Maybe you saw an amazing sunrise and can praise Jesus for his creation. Or perhaps you were reminded of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and want to tell him how thankful you are. Encourage your children to share at least one thing they can praise Jesus for as well. Then hold your very own worship service. Invite your children to come up with creative ways to praise Jesus—through music, drawing, or movement, for example. Add your own ideas to the program. Then spend time one evening praising Jesus and enjoying each other’s company.

Then, pray this simple prayer together…Lord, you deserve our praise. Help us to live in such a way that everything we do reflects our love and worship for you. Thank you Jesus, the Lamb of God, for dying for our sins. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Parenting is a proactive word, not just a title. Invest in the spiritual life of your kids…its good for the soul. And don’t take my word for it, take God’s Word for it and read it yourself (Revelation 5:12 and Psalm 118:19-29; Matthew 21:1-11).
